- Sevilla sporting director Monchi says they will sell Kounde for ‘an important bid’
Chelsea are reportedly yet to bid for Sevilla centre back Jules Kounde though the defender is for sale if the right price is met, confirmed sporting director Monchi.
The Blues have made the 22-year-old French defender Kounde their No 1 defensive target this summer yet are currently not keen on paying his £68million release clause.
According to the Evening Standard, the two clubs have still been in talks for the highly-rated centre back, with Chelsea keen to offer players in part-exchange to make the deal happen.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi says the club will sell Kounde if ‘an important bid’ arrives
Both Kurt Zouma and Kenedy have been offered as makeweights, with Zouma failing to agree terms with West Ham over a move this summer.
Sevilla value Kounde at around £50m and Zouma’s inclusion in the deal would ease the financial burden on Chelsea.
The Spaniards are not under pressure to sell, given Bryan Gil’s move to Tottenham, yet Monchi admitted that they would offload Kounde for the right bid.

‘Many clubs have asked for Kounde,’ he said. ‘Of course there’s interest but no official bid is on the table.
‘I don’t know what’s going to happen… we will sell if an important bid arrives, this is our policy to improve the team.’
Sevilla have already rejected a proposal from Tottenham of cash plus Davinson Sanchez, while Kounde is content to wait to see what other offers land.
Premier League champions Manchester City also made an approach for Kounde last summer but were unsuccessful.
