Chelsea agree compromise for Arsenal with Tammy Abraham transfer
Chelsea are willing to allow Arsenal to sign Tammy Abraham on an initial loan deal, according to reports.
The Champions League holders are actively looking to sell Abraham this summer but have been holding out for a £40 million transfer fee.
West Ham and Aston Villa both registered their interest early in the window, with Abraham understood to be open to a move to either club.
But reports last week claimed that Arsenal have also entered the race to sign Abraham, who is who is a boyhood Gunners fan and idolised Thierry Henry growing up.
Chelsea’s £40m valuation could prove tricky for Arsenal, who need to trim their squad even further to accommodate more big-money signings.
And according to The Sun, Chelsea’s hierarchy have now agreed to let Abraham leave Stamford Bridge on loan this summer but will an include a £40m obligation to buy clause if the striker reaches a certain number of appearances.
Chelsea are keen to offload Abraham in order to help bring a new striker to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Erling Haaland is the first-choice target for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich but Borussia Dortmund are adamant that the 21-year-old will be staying with them for at least one more season.
Speaking to Bild earlier this month, Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said of Haaland: ‘Nothing has changed.
‘We are still planning with Erling for the new season.’
