Chelsea ace Joao Felix sets record straight as people are saying his name wrong
Chelsea forward Joao Felix went out of his way to clarify the correct pronunciation of his name.
The Portuguese forward has not needed long to translate his skills on the pitch, despite the fact he has only found the back of the net on only one occasion this season. He has been one of Graham Potter’s most creative players ever since he arrived on loan from Atletico Madrid.
However, it appears commentators, pundits, and supporters have not been referring to him in the correct way. Fortunately for the football world, the former Benfica forward was on hand to explain.

“Joao Fell-ix,” the 23-year-old explained ahead of Chelsea's visit from Borussia Dortmund in their crunch Champions League round of 16 second leg. When asked if the constant mis-pronunciations was annoying he replied, “yeah, everyone says Fee-lix, even in Spain.
“Just in Portugal, they say my correct name. I don’t know why. I think it’s not too hard to spell. But yea, it is Joao Fell-ix, not Fee-lix.”

What needs no translation is the struggles Chelsea have endured in recent months. The Blues have endured a wretched run of form which currently sees them languishing way outside the top four places.
Their poor performances has resulted in the weight and pressure of the world being piled onto Potter’s shoulders. However, Felix tried to relieve some of the expectation and criticism off of his manager, stating the players must also take some of the blame.
"The fault is on us and on the coach, but not only for the players or the coach to take all the fault, it's between us all," Felix added, when asked about Potter.
"We just have to be together and we are. The coach is with us and we are with the coach. The situation will change for sure."
