Celtic fans think Callum McGregor called Rangers ace a "s****bag" in Old Firm

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor let rip at Rangers defender Borna Barisic during his side's dominant win over the Scottish Premiership champions at Parkhead on Wednesday evening.

The Scotland international midfielder, who wore a facemask for protection following an injury to his cheekbone, chased Barisic back into his own half after 21 minutes.

With the score at 1-0, McGregor then screamed at his rival after the ball had been passed by the Croatia international to one of his colleagues.

Although microphones didn't pick up what the 28-year-old had said exactly, some of his fans had a tongue-in-cheek prediction over his words.

One Twitter user wrote: "McGregor screaming at Barasic calling him a s**** bag."

With a second adding: "That video of McGregor calling Barasic a s**** bag is incredible. What a captain."

A third continued: "Seen that last night and thought yes captain my captain."

With a fourth concluding: "I thought I was the only person who saw that."

Following a brace from Reo Hatate, Liel Abada made it three before the break as Celtic took all three points to go a point clear at the top of the table.

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst said of the result: "Very disappointing.

"If you start an Old Firm game like this … it seemed like it was the first Old Firm we played.

"You know what it will bring, the Old Firm, what you have to do, the environment we go in, the ambience, the pressure we get, everything.

"It seemed like we weren’t ready for it. You see the way we gave the goals away. It is a (lack of sharpness) I cannot say otherwise.

"Not going with your man … not being ready for the battles. I think it was unbelievable the first half that I saw. Our Old Firm game started in the second half.

"We were much better, much more aggressive and we played well but the first half we gave the game away."
