Celtic began their Champions League clash against Real Madrid in disastrous fashion – by conceding two penalties and missing one themselves inside 30 minutes.
Similarly to their fierce rivals Rangers, Ange Postecoglou’s side have endured a European campaign to forget. However, despite the fact they were going to finish the evening rock bottom of Group F, regardless of the result, they still had an opportunity to secure a famous outcome against the Champions League holders.
Unfortunately, two conceded penalties in 21 minutes, followed by a missed penalty of their own, perfectly encapsulated their venture in Europe’s elite competition.

Only six minutes had passed when the Bhoys found themselves behind. Luke Modric expertly dispatched a penalty, sending Joe Hart the wrong way, after defender Moritz Jenz handled an effort from Federico Valverde.
Barely 15 minutes had passed when Matt O’Riley conceded another penalty. He also saw the ball strike his hand within the 18-yard box.
