Carragher spotted "s******g himself" as Man Utd protesters storm Old Trafford
Jamie Carragher has been trolled for "s****** himself" as Manchester United fans flooded into Old Trafford to protest the club's owners on Sunday afternoon.
Carragher, who was a pundit for the game, was previewing the clash on Sky Sports News when he was interrupted by presenter Geoff Shreeves – alerting him to the fact that protestors had made it into the stadium.
The former Liverpool star proceeded to swivel around with a worried expression on his face – continuously glancing between the camera and the protestors.
The moment of the incident was shared on the Red Devils Reddit channel (r/RedDevils) under the caption: "Jamie s****** himself seeing the protesters flood in."
United supporters were protesting the ownership of the club following the recent announcement of the – short-lived – European Super League, in which United were, reportedly, one of the driving forces.
A small number of United supporters were able to gain access to the stadium, and eventually, the pitch: where Carragher was.
"This is obviously not what we want to see, and the security here – at Old Trafford – has failed," remarked the presenter as he and Carragher watched the protesters enter the field.
However, despite his worried look, Carragher was in agreement with the protests.
"This thing that Man United fans have done today, I actually think it’s a good thing." He told Sky Sports.
"Protesting about what’s not right at your football club — I’m behind that.
"The ownership only have themselves to blame."
