Carragher baffled by Nevilles Man Utd XI which has Ronaldo out of position
Jamie Carragher was left mystified and mocked Gary Neville after the Manchester United legend named his preferred Red Devils side.
Neville sparked heated debate on social media after weighing in on United's best eleven under boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United suffered a huge setback with the Premier League defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday, with plenty questioning Solskjaer's choice of personnel.
Scott McTominay paired Fred in midfield against the Villains, while Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood joined Cristiano Ronaldo in attack.
But when asked about United's most complete side with a full squad available, Neville's team looked notably different.
Neville selected Pogba and McTominay as a midfield duo and summer signing Jadon Sancho missed out entirely.
The 46-year-old believes Edinson Cavani should lead the line, with Ronaldo off the left and Greenwood operating from the right.
Sky Sports colleague Carragher was quick to mock Neville for his team, picking out the absence of Sancho, moving Ronaldo from a central position and Pogba's role in the middle.
"So is Pogba not a left winger anymore, the right winger you said the club were desperate for doesn’t play & you’ve got Ronaldo wide," baffled Carragher replied on Twitter.
Gary Neville snubs Ronaldo and Fernandes when asked favourite Man Utd star
"Ossie Ardiles wouldn’t pick that team," the Liverpool great added, with two laughing emojis.
Solskjaer is under pressure to end his trophy drought at Old Trafford and is yet to find the balance in his side to mount a sustainable title charge.
Goalscorers Ronaldo and Cavani are yet to start in the same lineup, while fans are eagerly waiting to see Sancho sparkle in a red shirt.
