Carlo Ancelotti is 'excited' at interest from Brazil
‘I am EXCITED that they want me!’: Carlo Ancelotti cannot hide his delight at interest from Brazil’s national team… as 63-year-old Real Madrid boss insists he has NO plans to retire
- Carlo Ancelotti has declared his ‘excitement’ at potentially joining Brazil
- The Real Madrid boss has been linked with becoming Brazil’s next head coach
- Ancelotti revealed he would like to meet with the Brazilian FA president
Carlo Ancelotti has dropped his biggest hint yet that he would consider becoming the next national team manager of Brazil after declaring his excitement at being linked with the role.
The current Real Madrid boss could leave the LaLiga giants at the end of the season after a mixed season so far has seen them progress in the Champions League but drop 12 points behind leaders Barcelona in the Spanish top-flight.
The veteran Italian has been a serial winner in domestic football but has never stepped foot in an international dugout.
However, that could soon change with Brazil searching for a new head coach after Tite left his role post-World Cup and reportedly considering Ancelotti as the ideal replacement.
Speaking ahead of Madrid’s clash with Valladolid, Ancelotti confirmed he won’t be retiring if he leaves the Spanish capital.

‘No (I don’t plan to retire). Let’s see,’ said Ancelotti.
‘I am very excited that Brazil wants me, but I have to respect the contract with Madrid, which I want to fulfil.
‘If the President of the CBF wants to talk to me, I would love to meet him and greet him.’
The 63-year-old’s comments come in the wake of Brazilian FA president Ednaldo Rodrigues declaring his admiration of Ancelotti’s management style.
Rodrigues confirmed that the Real Madrid chief is the obvious choice given his work with Brazilian players Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He told Reuters: ‘I really admire him for his honesty in the way he works and how constant his work is. He needs no introductions.
‘He is really a top coach who has several achievements and we hope he can have even more.
‘Ancelotti is not only the players’ favourite but it seems the fans’ too. Everywhere I go in Brazil, in every stadium, he is the first name the supporters ask me about.
Meanwhile Madrid could look to appoint former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino should Ancelotti leave the club at the end of the season.
