Canada ace launches foul-mouthed rant in ‘best bit of swearing since Jill Scott’

Canadian star Allyesha Chapman did her best Jill Scott impression as she let rip at the Women's World Cup.

Chapman wasn't happy following a collision with Australian ace Hayley Raso during the second half of their clash at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. The pair crashed into each other as they went for a 50/50 ball, with Raso coming off worse and hitting the deck.

The camera then panned onto Chapman, who gave her thoughts in no uncertain terms to someone on the sidelines. "She f***ing jumped into me, you t***," the 34-year-old roared, giving a shock to anyone tucking into their lunch in the UK.

The unfiltered swearing was beamed into living rooms around the country, reminding fans of England legend Scott's similar tirade during the 2022 Women's Euros final. After a clash with Germany star Sydney Lohmann, Scott picked herself up and yelled: "F**k off, you f**king prick."

She duly became a national hero, not least because the Lionesses ended up winning the match 2-1. And exactly one year to the day since that iconic moment, Chapman's tirade also had viewers in pieces.

One fan wrote: "This is why we love football." Someone else said: "Ha, I thought that's what she said. Glad I didn't mishear." While a third user commented: "Alysha Chapman | Best Highlights & Skills."

Another user added: "Wouldn’t have imagined Canadians even knew such language existed." As a fifth viewer took the chance to comment on the quality of the match, writing: "This is, without a doubt, the best thing that’s happened all game."

Australia ultimately ran out comfortable 4-0 winners to guarantee top spot in Group B. A brace from Raso, plus one apiece from Stephanie Catley and Mary Fowler, ensured the tournament hosts of a place in the last-16.
