Bruno Fernandes reaches out to young Man Utd duo after promotions to first team
Bruno Fernandes has offered his advice to Manchester United youngsters Hannibal Mejbri and Shola Shoretire after the duo were promoted to the senior set-up.
Ole Gunnar Solskajer confirmed 18-year-old midfielder Mejbri and 17-year-old winger Shoretire have been training with the first team earlier this week.
"The young kids, we’ve moved Shola up with us, Hannibal will join us and we’ll keep them with us for a while," said the United boss.
"It’s the next step in their development, we’ve got to take the hit that when they play for the reserves they have to travel by themselves. It’s a nice step for them, they’ve done really well."
Following Mejbri and Shoretire's promotions, Fernandes reached out to the pair of talented youngsters to advise them to "keep their heads".
The Portuguese midfielder told United's official website : "They have to keep their heads clean, because it’s easy to come into the first team and your head goes a little bit, and it’s also hard when you have to go back and train and play with the other teams again.

"I was in that position some years ago and I know it’s hard, but if you work and are humble and you understand that every time you play is a chance, no matter where you are playing, every time is a chance to show you are ready or that you want to make that next step."
Mejbri and Shoretire will continue to feature for United's Under-23s and both started the 3-0 victory over Arsenal U23 on Friday, during which the latter scored a penalty.

"I think it’s always good for the club when we have young lads coming from the academy, because it’s a sign that the work being done in the youth [ranks] is working," Fernandes added.
"Of course it’s still a long way [to go]… I remember when I was young and training with the first team, it’s the first step.
"Now is the time to be humble, keep training well and keep doing the right things when they go back to the U18s and U23s, and you have to try to make the difference over there."
