Bruno Fernandes has already produced four iconic moments at Man Utd
Bruno Fernandes may still have his best years to come after turning 27 on Wednesday – but the midfielder has already enjoyed four iconic moments in his time at Manchester United.
The Portugal star is already producing superb numbers for United, registering 43 goals and 25 assists since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.
The majority of players reach their peak in their late 20s to early 30s, meaning he could still go up another level in the next few years.
However, since moving to Old Trafford Fernandes has already provided some terrific moments, and we're on hand with the four most iconic.
Leicester penalty
With United needing a point away at Leicester to secure a place in the top four on the final day of the season, the pressure was well and truly on Fernandes when they received a penalty inside the final 20 minutes with the score locked at 0-0.
The £67million recruit had the chance to put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men on the verge of Champions League qualification and end Leicester's chances of leapfrogging them.
That's exactly what he did, keeping his cool under intense pressure and sweeping home past Kasper Schmeichel to end the Foxes' chances of usurping them.

Pep beef
One of Fernandes' most memorable moments in a United shirt came during their derby win over Manchester City before the coronavirus lockdown came into place in March 2020.
After becoming embroiled in a touchline spat with City boss Pep Guardiola, the former Lisbon star could be seen telling him to shush in a clip which quickly went viral on social media.
Speaking about the incident in an interview with Sky Sports, Fernandes said: "“At that moment, the words he said made me mad.
"I have respect for Pep and what he did for football, but he didn’t respect me, so he didn’t deserve my respect at that moment.”

Brighton drama
United earned a reputation for scoring last-gasp goals in the dying seconds under legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson, inspiring the term 'Fergie Time'.
But in September of last year Fernandes broke new ground – by scoring AFTER the final whistle.
Drawing 2-2 away at Brighton, United looked to have missed out on a victory when referee Chris Kavanagh sounded for full-time following an unsuccessful corner from the visitors.

However, VAR replays showed that Brighton's Neal Maupay had handled the ball in the box before he Kavanagh blew for full-time, meaning the game was restarted and a penalty was awarded.
Fernandes then stepped up from 12 yards in the most unprecedented of circumstances and tucked away his spot-kick to snatch a dramatic win for the Red Devils.

Liverpool winner
One way to become an instant United legend is to fire home a winner against bitter rivals Liverpool, and that's exactly what Fernandes did in January of this year.
After starting their FA Cup clash with the Reds on the bench, he entered the fray in the second half with the score poised at 2-2.

That was before United were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box with 12 minutes remaining, which Fernandes rifled home to dump Jurgen Klopp's men out of the cup and cement his place in Red Devils folklore.
