Owing to his performances, which were capped by a generally faultless display in the final against France, Mac Allister has attracted the attention of various big European clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and now Juventus.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 24-year-old midfielder – who signed a new deal with Brighton until 2025 on the eve of going to Qatar – is fascinated by the possibility of playing for Juventus and the move may be imminent.
The key to the negotiation surrounds Weston McKennie. If the USA star is sold by the end of January, Mac Allister will likely make his move to Juventus.
The current Brighton midfielder is expected to cost around €35m-€40m (£31m-35m) which could become affordable after the imminent departures of Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie, as the two players are being targeted by Premier League clubs.
The Brighton midfielder has only recently penned a new deal with the Seagulls until 2025
The key to the negotiation surrounds the future of Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie and whether will leave in January
Tottenham have always been interested in McKennie, and Fabio Paratici – who was the Juventus CEO for over a decade – would reportedly like to be reunited with the midfielder.
Juventus are expected to stage talks with Mac Allister’s representatives in the next few weeks to test the waters.
McKennie and Mac Allister have the same value and the deal would benefit Juventus – who would not have to lose money on changing their midfield.
MacAllister has already spoken to his family and considers Juventus an extraordinary club where he can become a top player.
He sees Juve as a super equipped team to win trophies immediately and the stories of his Argentina team-mates Angel Di Maria and Paulo Dybala could play a role in convincing him to choose the path of a transfer to Italy.
If Brighton are satisfied with an offer, Mac Allister will leave the Premier League for life in Italy.
