Brentford are keen on Preston North End midfielder Ben Pearson as the Deepdale club face an overhaul of their squad.

The stylish 26-year-old Pearson, who started out at Manchester United, is out of contract in the summer and has also attracted interest from West Brom and Celtic.

Brentford want to bolster their midfield as they push once again for promotion to the Premier League.

Preston are reshuffling their squad with Pearson ready to leave this month and defender Ben Davies turning down a new contract offer amid interest from Sheffield United and Celtic.

The Deepdale club are working on a six month loan for Fleetwood striker Ched Evans and remain in talks over a deal for Doncaster Rovers’ Ben Whiteman.

Brighton midfielder Jayson Molumby, who saw a record bid from Millwall rejected today, is also on their radar as is Everton’s highly rated centre back Jarrad Branthwaite, 18, who has interest from Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday too.
