Brentford are reportedly investigating Ivon Toney after a video emerged of him on social media appearing to slander his own club. The Mirror claims Brentford are now looking into the incident which has happened while the player is on a winter break in Dubai. Toney appears to say “f*** Brentford” when asked to do so by a woman he was with.
The Mirror says Toney is in Dubai with his strike partner Bryan Mbeumo.
Brentford do not have a match until February 5 so the duo are taking advantage of their time off.
However, the video, which has gone viral on social media, does not look good for the Bees forward.
And Brentford are said to be “aware of the video and are investigating”.
Toney has scored seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for Brentford this season.
He netted 33 times in his debut campaign at the club which helped them reach to promotion to the Premier League for the first time.
The Englishman has understandably become a firm favourite with the club’s supporters.
But many have tweeted their frustration and disappointed after seeing the video surface on Friday.

Manager Thomas Frank will be hoping to resolve the incident quickly.
Brentford have lost their last four league matches as they attempt to stay in the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The west London side are 14th in the table, with 23 points from as many games.
Toney has netted in his last two appearances against Manchester United and Wolves.
Speaking last October, his manager Frank claimed an England call-up was not too far away for the former Newcastle ace.
“He’s done well,” Frank said.
“I like that players need to prove themselves first, but I’m 100 per cent sure he will.
“If he continues to improve and do well then I’m convinced Gareth will look at him when the time is right and I think he will get his chance.
“Ivan’s mentality is amazing because he believes in himself. He’s in the shape of his life.
“We’ve had an amazing pre-season and he came back in a good place and trained very hard.
“He’s able to link up well and press high in the 85th/86th minute, he’s winning the headers, and he’s in the right positions.”
