Brendan Rodgers buys house in Wilmslow amid Manchester United speculation
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has fueled speculation he could take charge at Manchester United by buying a house in the north-west.
The former Liverpool manager is in the running to be appointed United’s new manager, with Rodgers on the club’s shortlist to replace interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
Rodgers had been living in Merseyside and commuting to Leicester’s training base every day but the Sun say he’s now bought a property in Wimslow, where numerous United and City players reside.
The Foxes’ difficult season has only increased speculation that Rodgers could be set to leave the King Power Stadium and he’s open to departing the club, three years after taking charge following his exit from Celtic.
Leicester are 12th in the Premier League and they were humiliated by Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup last week, losing 4-1 at the Forest Ground.
United have shortlisted the likes of Erik Ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique, as well as Rodgers, in their list of managerial targets.
The club expect to start opening talks with prospective targets in the coming weeks and they could even announce an appointment before the end of the season.
Ralf Rangnick is being consulted on the search, as he will become a club advisor when he moves upstairs at the end of the season.
