Borussia Dortmund interested in Chelsea star Conor Gallagher
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Conor Gallagher this summer and have officially enquired about the Chelsea midfielder, according to reports.
The German giants are keen to recruit a new midfielder after losing fellow Englishman Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid.
Gallagher is one of several Chelsea players linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer as the club look to reduce the size of their squad.
The Daily Mail report that Bundesliga side Dortmund have now enquired about Gallagher’s availability, despite rumours that Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep him.
Gallagher wants to stay and fight for his place but Chelsea’s hierarchy may still decide to sell him – with the club thought to be under Financial Fair Play pressure.
The 23-year-old Chelsea academy graduate has attracted interest from many clubs including Newcastle United, Tottenham and Brighton.
Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham were all previously linked to the England international.
Gallagher, under contract until 2025, made 45 appearances for Chelsea last season.
He massively impressed on loan at Crystal Palace in the 2021-22 campaign and was named the club’s Player of the Year.
Dortmund, meanwhile, missed out on the Bundesliga title last term on the final day of the season to Bayern Munich.
