Bilic not bitter over West Brom sack as he hopes Allardyce seals survival
Slaven Bilic says he desperately hopes Sam Allardyce can keep West Brom in the Premier League.
Bilic, sacked by The Baggies just three weeks ago, has now been appointed head coach at Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan.
The 52-year-old jetted out to the Far East eager to point out that he has nothing but good ishes for the club that gave him the boot.
Bilic was sacked just a few months after getting West Brom promoted from the Championship – and in came Allardyce.
Croatian manager Bilic is not bitter and told talkSPORT: “I hope they survive.
“It’s difficult. We were improving a lot and we were competing in every game.
“Hopefully Sam will continue to do that now. The gap is not too big. I'm not annoyed or bitter about it.
“The players were brilliant from day one. We've been through great times – promotion and everything and we had a few knockdowns along the way, but the players were always brilliant and I feel for them and the fans.”
Bilic continued: “West Brom will always be remembered by me as a great part of my career. They will stay in my heart and mind forever.”
