Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is reportedly at risk of losing his place in the German national team if his club situation doesn’t change soon. Leno started the campaign as Mikel Arteta’s first choice, but has in recent months lost his place in the starting line-up to Aaron Ramsdale.
Ex-Sheffield United goalkeeper Ramsdale joined Arsenal in the summer in a move worth £30million and has started the last four league fixtures.
Leno has not featured in the Premier League since he conceded five goals at the Etihad Stadium against champions Manchester City in August.
And according to German media outlet Fussball.News, a change of club is ‘concievable’ for Leno.
The 29-year-old has regularly been the third-choice goalkeeper for Die Mannschaft, behind Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer and Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

But the report says that Leno could loose his position in the international team altogether, with Kevin Trapp his likely successor.
The former PSG goalkeeper has been a key performer for Eintracht Frankfurt in recent years and is now giving national team head coach Hansi Flick a difficult decision to make.
According to Bild Sport journalist Christian Falk, Leno was only supposed to be dropped from the team for two matches and was due to return to the first-team set-up for the north London derby, but that didn’t happen.
Meanwhile, Leno himself has recently said that while he is not considering a move away from the Emirates at present, if nothing changes by January, then he would have to start thinking about his future.

Speaking to Bild as quoted by Sport Witness, Leno said: “There was no clear reason why I was out, but it had nothing to do with my performance. He is the trainer, he decides. Of course, it’s difficult for me.
“London is very nice; Milan is not bad either and closer to my home Stuttgart.
“But I’m not seriously thinking about that yet. I feel comfortable at Arsenal and in London.
“Only if nothing changes in my situation by winter would I have to think about things: what option do I have, how can I continue?
“But I’m concentrating on my work in training; I can’t commit to anything else at the moment.”
Whether Leno remains at Arsenal beyond January remains to be seen, but in the meantime, the Gunners are set to face Patrick Viera’s Crystal Palace on October 18, following the international break.
Arteta’s side are currently 11th in the Premier League with 10 points after seven matches.
