Manchester City are reportedly prepared to double Bernardo Silva’s wages and make him one of the highest earners in the club’s history.
Silva, 27, has taken his game to new heights this season, becoming an indispensable for Pep Guardiola after producing the finest form of his City career.
The Portugal star is understood to have feared for his place in the side following Jack Grealish’s £100million arrival from Aston Villa over the summer.

However, instead of leaving City he has pushed on to become their player of the season by a country mile.
And according to The Sun, Silva could be rewarded for his efforts with a bumper new contract worth £300,000 per week.
Putting pen to paper on such lucrative terms would place him alongside Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling as one of City’s top earners, and with his current deal set to expire in 2025, it would likely keep him at the club for at least another six years.

Silva has registered seven goals for the Premier League champions in 2021/22, with Guardiola admitting his form is so impressive that he has become undroppable.
But the City boss believes his star midfielder has reached similar heights in previous seasons.
‘He is the best,’ Guardiola said after Silva’s winning goal against Aston Villa earlier this month. ‘He was the best two or three seasons ago. He was the best then too.
‘He has a special ability to do whatever he wants with the ball. Against a good goalkeeper it was an incredible finish.
‘You have to go back to when we won with 98 points, review the videos, you will see the same player like this right now.’
