The reasons that Bernardo presented to Guardiola for wanting to leave Manchester City boil down to personal and family issues, which leads the Portuguese international to intend to be closer to Portugal.

Jorge Mendes, his manager, has already been contacted by Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, who have shown their interest, but the Catalans were the only ones so far who have also contacted Manchester City to find out about the values of a possible deal, and were told that the club values Bernardo above 60 million euros (£51.5m).

The Spanish club, which does not have much money to offer, also revealed some willingness to involve other players in a possible deal, and Guardiola, according to information gathered, will have a preference for Sergi Roberto and also the young Portuguese Trincao, who have long awakened the interest of the Spanish coach.

We were also told that Barcelona admits the departure of these two to Manchester in exchange for Bernardo Silva.

Despite being at Euro 2020 wit Portugal, Bernardo  asked for some speed in this process both to Manchester City and the businessman Jorge Mendes.

The 26-year-old wants to have his sporting life sorted out before August, in order to prepare his personal life.

Jorge Mendes tried to dissuade Bernardo Silva from this decision to leave England, but the footballer is determined and will not leave Manchester unless Pep Guardiola refuses to leave again, as happened at the beginning of last season, when Bernardo Silva already had an agreement with Barcelona.
