Bayern turn attention to Chelsea star Kepa with first offer ‘coming soon’
Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea star Kepa Arrizabalaga. As the German side continue to hunt a deal for Harry Kane, they are also looking to bring in a new goalkeeper and Thomas Tuchel has identified the Spaniard as a top target.
Kepa was set to be Chelsea’s No 1 this season. Mauricio Pochettino brought in Robert Sanchez from Brighton last week for a fee of £25million.
However, he was set to play second fiddle to his Spanish compatriot. That may no longer be the case if Kepa completes a move to Bayern.
Bayern had a third bid for Tottenham talisman Kane rejected on Monday. However, they are set to return with a new bid in a final attempt to lure the England skipper away from north London.

But amid that saga, Bayern are set to pursue a goalkeeper. Manuel Neuer is not close to a return to action after fracturing his tibia and fibula earlier this year.
Yann Sommer has left Bayern to join Inter Milan, leaving Tuchel with Sven Ulreich as his most senior option in goal. German outlet Sport 1 claims Tuchel does not want to rely on the 35-year-old and will look to bring in reinforcement.
Kepa is the No 1 target for Tuchel and it is reported that initial talks have already been held with the player’s representatives and Chelsea. Bayern would look to initially sign Kepa on loan.
If Chelsea block his exit, Bayern have two other options on the table. One of those is Sevilla and Monaco star Yassine Bounou.

First Bayern will look to go after Kepa, with Spanish outlet Relevo claiming an official offer is set to be made in the next few days. The proposal would be a loan with a mandatory option to buy the player.
Kepa remains the world’s most expensive goalkeeper after joining Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for £72million in 2018. He has not always been the first-choice, including when Tuchel was head coach at Stamford Bridge.
New Chelsea boss Pochettino recently spoke glowingly about Kepa following his performances in pre-season. He said: “We are so happy with him.
“He is showing great commitment in adapting to new demands from Toni [Jimenez], from the coaching staff, and the goalkeeping coach, him and Hilario are working. We are so happy with him and he is a fantastic keeper.”
