Bayern Munich ‘slash wages of unvaccinated players’ including Gnarby
Bavarian giants Bayern Munich have reportedly slashed the wages of five unvaccinated players currently at the club.
Bayern have seen five first-team players forced into self-isolation after coming into contact with a Covid-positive individual.
Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Michael Cuisance have all been told they won't be paid for every training session and match they miss, it is reported.
German outlet Bild are reporting that Bayern told its players they would be withholding pay for any players that were unvaccinated.
And the five who are now in self-isolation all reportedly refused the vaccine, triggering Bayern's new stance on unvaccinated individuals.
Bayern suffered a shock defeat to Augsburg over the weekend, which saw Kimmich, who is so often Bayern's standout performer, miss the clash due to self-isolation.
Gnabry started that match, while Musiala and Choupo-Moting came on as substitutes, and Cuisance was left on the bench.
A quick 1-2 blow from Mads Pedersen and Andre Hahn was enough to see Bayern off, despite the best efforts of Robert Lewandowski.
Niklas Sule and Josip Stanisic also tested positive for Covid-19, but due to the pair being vaccinated they won't be docked any pay.
