Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel meets Harry Kane ‘at his home’ to discuss transfer

Harry Kane has met with Thomas Tuchel at his London home ahead of a potential blockbuster move to Bayern Munich.

The Tottenham striker is keen on the switch and is understood to have told Tuchel he wants to win the Champions League with the Bundesliga giants, according to German outlet BILD.

Bayern, who are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Kane this summer, had a £60m bid for the 29-year-old rejected last week though are prepared to go all out for him after selecting the England man as their number one transfer target.

Kane has just 12 months left on his current contract, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is nevertheless expected to demand close to £100m before even considering a sale.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid have been monitoring Kane's situation, with all three in the market for a new No. 9 this summer, though none of them have registered any official interest as of yet, leaving Bayern with something of a free run.

The German club still have a Robert Lewandowski-shaped hold in their first team following the Polish striker's move to Barcelona last year, and it's understood they see Kane as his ideal replacement.

Bayern's top scorer last season was winger Serge Gnabry with 17 goals in all competitions, followed by midfielder Jamal Musiala who netted 15. By contrast, Lewandowski bagged 50 goals in all competitions for the team in the 2021/22 season.

Will Kane move to Bayern? Let us know in the comments section below.

Kane has been coy about his future recently. His desire to win trophies is one of the worst kept secrets in football but he's made no attempt to force his way out of Tottenham since Manchester City's attempts to nab him in 2021 were rebuffed.

If he doesn't sign a new deal he'll be able to leave on a free in a year's time, which may end up easing Levy's resolve this summer as Spurs fans would no doubt rather see Kane in a Bayern shirt than see him strutting his stuff against them for one of their fiercest rivals next season.

Kane, who has scored 280 goals for Tottenham, is running out of chances to seal a dream transfer to a European super power and a move to Bayern could be ideal for him as it would be unlikely to wreck his reputation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Bayern will undoubtedly be buoyed by news of Kane's desire to join, but the immediacy with which their opening bid was rejected suggests that prying him from Tottenham's clutches will be far from straightforward.
