Barcelona’s official accounts reveal they owe Liverpool millions of pounds
Barcelona owe Liverpool a staggering £35.5million in outstanding transfer payments, according to their official accounts.
The Catalan giants owe a huge £174million in transfer fees to no fewer than 19 clubs.
Bordeaux are owed £8.8million for winger Malcom, and Gremio are due £12million for the sale of Arthur Melo.
Ajax are also waiting on money from Barcelona, with the Spanish club still needing to pay the Dutch giants a huge £48million for midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
Barcelona parted with £142million to sign Coutinho in one of the most expensive transfers of all time, handing over £105million up front.
The rest of the money was agreed to be paid in installments over the next few years.
Liverpool have received the vast majority of this, but according to Barcelona's latest accounts, the Reds are still waiting on £35.5million.
Coutinho's transfer to Barcelona initially looked like a piece of doomed business, with the Brazilian quickly out of favour at the Camp Nou.
The midfielder was sent on loan to Bayern Munich as a result, but impressed while in Germany, winning the Champions League and Bundesligsa.
He is back at Barcelona this season, and has featured 14 times in all competitions under new manager Ronald Koeman.
