Barcelona ‘to move’ for Man City star Raheem Sterling after failed summer bid
Barcelona could make a move to try and sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City during the January transfer window as he continues to play a reduced role under Pep Guardiola.
Although Sterling played a starring role for England during their run to the final of Euro 2020 in the summer, he has only started two of five Premier League fixtures so far.
The former Liverpool man has made 298 appearances for the club since his 2015 move, winning three Premier League titles and five domestic cups.
The 26-year-old is unlikely to be content with sitting on the bench following an impressive summer, and that could attract more interest from abroad when the window reopens.
Spanish outlet Sport report that Barcelona could reignite their interest in Sterling after a deal failed to materialise during the summer transfer window.
They add that the Catalan giants are ready to rest City's resolve by making a bid in early 2022, and that Sterling has given the 'thumbs up' over a potential move.
Although the biggest talking point at Barcelona in recent months has been their astonishing debt, Atletico Madrid's loan with an obligation to buy of Antoine Griezmann freeing up funds.

Guardiola said of the forward before Sterling started in the draw against Southampton: “Do you know how many incredible successes we had in the last seasons yeah? Impossible without Raheem. He’s such an important player.
"But I am here to tell them. He reached an incredible high standard and I have to tell him this is the standard we need, for you, for all of us.
"And I’m pretty sure he will get it. If he’s able to do it, he will do it. And I’m so optimistic that he will do a great season.”
