Barcelona 'have made initial contact with PSG over Nou Camp return'
Barcelona ‘make contact with PSG and Neymar over a sensational return to the Nou Camp with the Brazilian their No 1 target over Erling Haaland’, despite his claims he is ‘happier than ever’ in France
- Neymar has regularly been linked with a move back to Barcelona in recent years
- The Brazilian’s contract at Paris Saint-German expires in the summer of 2022
- Barcelona have made initial contact to bring Neymar back to Spain, say reports
- The Catalans have reportedly placed him as a number one target this summer
Barcelona have made initial contact to bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in Spain.
The Brazilian forward’s future at the Parc des Princes is under serious threat with his contract at the French giants expiring in the summer of 2022 and has been strongly linked with a reunion with Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.
Neymar has endured a topsy-turvy time at PSG ever since he went AWOL for pre-season training at the Ligue 1 club nearly two years ago amid rumours he wanted to move back to Barcelona.

Neymar has been strongly linked with a move back to his former side over the past two years
And according to Spanish news outlet RAC1, as cited by SPORT, the 29-year-old has been identified as the number one target for the Catalans this summer over Erling Braut Haaland.
The report also claims Neymar is desperate to return to his former side and would not put any strict financial demands on the club in order to facilitate a move.
At the start of February, Barcelona’s debt was considered to be at around £1billion – meaning major transfer targets were unlikely at the start of the season.
But Barcelona would benefit from Neymar failing to reach an agreement with PSG over a new contract, meaning the French giants would be forced to either cash in this summer or risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season.

PSG have not only maintained that Neymar is not for sale but the French champions remain confident the Brazilian will commit to a new deal.
The 29-year-old himself has admitted that he feels happier at the Ligue 1 side compared to previous seasons.
When asked about his future in Paris ahead of the Champions League semi-final with Manchester City, he said: ‘I have got time on my contract here at PSG. We want to do what is the best for everyone.

‘I have already said that I am happy here and I feel much better than in the previous seasons.’
However, Neymar’s former agent Andre Cury recently admitted the door will always be open for the Brazilian at Barcelona – especially with club president Joan Laporta back at the helm.
Laporta was re-elected by the Barcelona fans in March after the resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu – who nearly oversaw the exit of club talisman and captain Lionel Messi from the Camp Nou.
Neymar’s former agent claimed the door will always be open for the Brazilian to return to Spain
Cury told Argentine news outlet El Litoral in March: ‘Neymar has an open door at Barcelona, their fans knows he made a mistake and even he recognised it some time later.
‘Two years ago, Neymar formally asked me to return to Barcelona. We tried and we were really close to getting him out of Paris. But, because of some details, it didn’t happen.
‘Laporta is the only one who can bring them back together again. Messi won’t leave Barcelona – he decided that his history is in Barcelona and I’m very clear on that. Neymar will play with Messi again, but in Barcelona.’

Laporta’s appointment as president is a move which is likely to convince Barcelona captain Messi to stay at the club.
And according to Spanish broadcaster TVE.club this week, the Argentine has already told Barcelona of his desire to stay – but on the conditions they build a capable squad around the Argentine and other stars.
Neymar and Messi made up two-thirds of the infamous ‘MSN’ forward trio alongside Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.
Together, the Barcelona forwards helped the club to the treble in 2015 under former manager Luis Enrique.
