Barcelona are reportedly set to offload a number of players this summer in a bid to finance new signings. Barcelona’s latest financial statements showed they are £1.1billion in debt and they need to sell players before they attempt to bring new ones in.

A report from Spanish outlet Marca claims that newly elected president Joan Laporta has made Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland his number one transfer target.

Haaland is one of the most prolific goalscorers in world football and is attracting interest from the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

However, Barcelona are said to be hopeful of signing Haaland and they are willing to sacrifice five players in order to fund the deal.

The report claims that Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Antoine Griezmann, Junior Firpo and Martin Braithwaite could all be sold this summer to raise cash.

Several of these players may interest Premier League clubs and they could make a move this summer.

Arsenal are interested in signing a left-back to provide some support and competition for Kieran Tierney and they have been linked with Firpo.

Spanish radio station RAC1 claimed that Arsenal attempted to sign him on loan in January and they could revisit the deal in the summer.

Their interest is said to be ongoing and the 24-year-old could be a welcome addition at the Emirates.

Centre-back Umtiti could also attract plenty of interest, with United known to be in the market for a defender and Liverpool previously linked with him.

The 27-year-old World Cup winner has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp, with the likes of Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Ronald Araujo and Oscar Mingueza all getting more game time than Umtiti this season.

As a result, it is no surprise that he may be on his way out of Barcelona and United or Liverpool could welcome him to the Premier League.

United are in the market for a partner for Harry Maguire and Liverpool could look to bring in a more experienced defender, having lost their three senior centre-backs to season-ending injuries.

Griezmann, meanwhile, is another Barcelona player who has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol has claimed that Arsenal are ‘waiting for him with open arms’ if he does depart Barcelona this summer.

Arsenal forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have both been linked with permanent moves away from the Emirates and Griezmann could be brought in to lead the line.

The report claims that Griezmann is so far undecided about his future as he wants to see how the season pans out at Barcelona.
