Barcelona agree fee with Wolves for Adama Traore ahead of Nou Camp loan
Barcelona are close to sealing the return of Adama Traore after seven years away as reports suggest that Wolves have agreed to a deal that will see the Spaniard go on loan until the rest of the season with a £25milllion option-to-buy clause attached.
The winger is currently in Spain to undergo a medical ahead of the move despite heavy interest from Tottenham. Antonio Conte had made the attacker one of his top targets and Spurs looked poised to secure Traore before Barcelona came in.
Tottenham had Fabio Paratici, their managing director of football, lead with the negotiations and there was a sound belief that the move would come into fruition earlier this week.
The 26-year-old had been keen on joining up with Spurs but a failure to wrap up the deal from the prospective club plus the emergence of Barcelona saw the move collapse.
It’s thought that Wolves would have preferred an obligation-to-buy option, according to the Guardian, but they conceded that clause in order to get the move complete.
Traore made it clear he would not be extending his contract with the Midlands club beyond the end of the season and so they wished to see him move on at this point.
The former Aston Villa player played 63 appearances for Barcelona B and only featured on four occasions for their first-team side.

He joined Villa in 2015 but it's with Wolves that he’s gone on to become a well-recognised Premier League star, known for his exquisite dribbling ability and strength.
There is an option for Barcelona to buy the player at the end of the season, while they are covering his salary in full up until that point.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are edging closer to signing the highly-rated Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski. The Athletic report that if a deal happens for the 21-year-old it would likely be a loan plus either an option or obligation to buy.
