Barcelona have reportedly held initial talks with representatives of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero ahead of a possible free transfer this summer.
The Argentine, who is City’s all-time leading scorer with 258 goals, announced in March that he would be leaving the Etihad when his contract expires at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Barca chiefs have been in touch with representatives of the 32-year-old over a move which could see him link up with international team-mate Lionel Messi.

Barca are said to be hopeful of convincing their captain to stay at the Nou Camp this summer and his presence would no doubt be a deciding factor in Aguero’s decision.
Ronald Koeman’s side have been beset by financial problems and Aguero’s free agent status makes him an attractive proposition.
The striker has only managed 17 appearances in all competitions this season due to injuries and illness but is now fit again and netted a superb goal against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Should he make the move the move to the Catalans in the summer, the forward would be following in the footsteps of Diego Maradona, his former father-in-law.
Marardona, who died in November last year, spent two years at Barca between 1982 and 1984. During his time there he won the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa de la Liga.
Aguero has played in LaLiga before, spending five yeras with Atletico Madrid before his move to Manchester in 2011.
He has been linked with a number of European clubs including Chelsea, Inter Milan and Arsenal.
The striker is looking to end his final season at the Etihad by winning his and City’s first Champions League trophy.
Pep Guardiola’s side progressed to the final after recording a 4-1 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the semis.

City beat Tottenham to win the Carabao Cup last month and could wrap up the Premier League title with a victory over Chelsea this weekend.
The club announced that Aguero’s service would be rewarded with a statue at their stadium. Aguero’s statue will stand alongside those of fellow club greats Vincent Kompany and David Silva, which are currently being constructed.
The trio are viewed as symbolising the strides taken under managers Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and Guardiola over the past decade.
