Barcelona’s partial demolition of the Nou Camp’s is making rapid progress, with new pictures revealing the extent of the stadium’s refurbishment.
One of the iconic stadium’s stands has already been reduced to rubble, and it’s once-imposing silhouette has been greatly reduced.
All seats have also been removed from the stands, stripping them of the iconic ‘Mes Que un Club’ motto that provided the backdrop for player unveilings.
Barca had originally hoped to reopen the stadium in time for their 125th avvniversary in 2024, but their return is now expected to come in the 2025-26 season.
Previous footage showed a crane tearing down parts of the stadium just six weeks after its final game, with one fan admitting it made him ‘tear up.’

The Spanish champions announced in July 2022 that they would leave their historic ground and play the 2023-24 campaign at the Olympic Stadium amid the construction work.
The Olympic Stadium – which hosted the 1992 Summer Games – is close to Barca’s famous grand and should not provide many issues for fans or players.
Still, the speed of destruction is a sign that Barcelona are in no mood to wait around as they push on into a bold new era, with the iconic arena set to see its capacity increase from 99,354 seats to 105,000.
The reonvation, which is expected to cost £1.25 billion, will see a roof added to the stadium, which will be officially renamed the Spotify Nou Camp.
Club president Joan Laporta recently donned a hard hat to visit the site himself, and left thrilled at the work so far.
He said, as per Spanish media: ‘The first sensation it generates is nostalgia.
‘But, after walking around and seeing the pace of the works, which are going well, it gives you the feeling of hope and joy because we are fulfilling a collective dream of the people of Barcelona.’
The Catalan Giants’ finances have been under scrutiny for some years now, but the renovation does appear to have given them a unique money making opportunity.
When finished, the new stadium will have an even larger capacity and a roof

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club is planning to use the grass from last season’s pitch to sustainably create their own range of diamonds.
It has been claimed they are planning to manufacture pins, bracelets, cufflinks, rings, necklaces, shields and pins utilising the diamonds, with 1957 jewels (in reference to the year the stadium was first built) from the 7,000 square-metre pitch.
Fifty-seven one carat diamonds are set to be cut, with the price of one carat set to knock bidders back just over £12,000.
The club are also predicting to net around £25million each year from the process.
