Aston Villa want to bring in Bournemouth playmaker David Brooks before the end of the January transfer window, according to reports.
Brooks has scored five times and provided three assists during the Cherries’ promotion push from the Championship following their relegation from the Premier league last season.
That form has caught the eye of Villa boss Dean Smith as he looks to continue his £200million investment in the squad since their promotion in 2019, according to the Mirror.

Former Manchester City midfielder Brooks had been sidelined by a long-term injury but has played a prominent part in high-flying Bournemouth’s success so far this season.
The Wales international usually plays on the right wing for Bournemouth and Wales, and Smith is keen to provide competition for the in-form Anwar El Ghazi and Trezeguet in his squad.
Villa are also said to be keen on promising Reading midfielder Michael Olise after the 19-year-old’s key role in the Royals’ fine first half of the season.
Manager Dean Smith is said to be keen to continue his investment in promising young players
The attacking midfielder or winger has played for France at youth level and remains eligible to represent England or Nigeria.
Olise signed a three-year professional contract with the club in the summer after impressing in their academy and making a string of first-team appearances last season.
Smith has reportedly been given the green light to continue adding to his squad while market prices are lower than usual.
Villa are eighth in the Premier League table with at least a game in hand on the teams above them and could see now as an opportunity to sign players from a position of strength.
