Aston Villa are braced for loan offers for record-breaking teen striker Cameron Archer before next week’s transfer deadline.
Archer announced himself in spectacular fashion by scoring a hat-trick on his full debut for the club in Tuesday’s league cup win at Barrow.
The 19-year-old, who could be in line for a new deal with just one year left on his current contract, became the youngest player to score a treble for Villa since Gary Shaw in 1979.

His exploits have now alerted a number of EFL clubs and left Villa weighing up whether to loan him out to continue his development or keep him around Dean Smith’s first team.
Archer forced his way into Smith’s plans after scoring a hat-trick in a recent in-house squad games and then scoring in back-to-back Under 23s matches.
He just missed out on a place in their squad for last week’s 2-0 Premier League win over Newcastle before being handed his first start against Barrow, two years after his debut in the same competition against Crewe.
