Aston Villa in Jones U-turn, Hourihane set for loan move, Guilbert could exit
Aston Villa have been one of the Premier League's biggest spenders in the transfer window so far, forking out no less than £95million on summer signings.
Dean Smith's side broke their transfer record earlier this summer when they brought in Emiliano Buendia from Norwich for a reported £34million.
After selling Jack Grealish to Manchester City for a British record £100million, Villa splashed the cash on Danny Ings and Leon Bailey – from Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.
With just over a day to go before the transfer window door slams shut, time is fast running out for anymore incomings and outgoings this summer.
With that in mind, here Daily Star Sport brings you the latest transfer news from Villa Park.
Jones move off
Aston Villa’s plan to make a late move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones looks to be off, according to Sky Sports.
The outlet say Dean Smith is satisfied with the squad he has available at his disposal and the club will not pursue a deal for the midfielder.
However, Sky Sports have also reported that Smith does have funds available, should he wish to make a late move for a midfielder before Tuesday’s deadline.
The news comes after MailOnline said that Villa could be set to make a £15million offer for the 20-year-old, who is currently under contract at Anfield until 2025.
Hourihane set for Blades loan

Sheffield United are closing in on a deal to sign Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane on loan, as reported by The Telegraph’s Matt Law.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from Villa Park for some time, and it appears a move elsewhere is finally coming to fruition.
The midfielder – who is out of contract next summer – is set to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a season-long loan.
Hourihane has made 151 appearances for Villa, since joining from Barnsley in 2017, and the Republic of Ireland international played a key role in helping Smith’s side earn promotion back to the Premier League.
Guilbert could exit before deadline

Another player who could be set to leave Villa Park this summer is French defender Frederic Guilbert.
Birmingham Live say the 26-year-old may exit the club before Tuesday’s deadline.
The central defender joined in 2016 from French side Caen and has made 32 appearances for Villa.
Guilbert was a regular starter during his first season under Smith, but the Frenchman failed to make a single appearance in the previous campaign, leading to a loan move at French side Strasbourg.
