  • Arsenal youngster Reuell Walters once made over £8,000 in one night after his Fortnite map went viral.

Walters, who is on the cusp of the Arsenal first-team as they push for their first Premier League title in almost two decades, recalled the anecdote to The Athletic. Walters, then 15, had made a map on the game called RJW's BoxPVP.

And after other players started to use the map, Walters received an email from EpicGames saying he had made $20 (£16). However, Walters' parents had initially denied his request to make money from the map – fearing he was getting scammed.

However, as Walters' map gained traction in the game, his parents eventually set up a PayPal account that allowed him to start making money.

And one month after making that initial $20, Walters' map had 250 million people globally playing it in one week. Walters then recalled the most he made was $11,000 – over £8,000.

However, these days, Fortnite is off the table – and he's spent Arsenal's last five Premier League games on the bench, as well as the Gunners' Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon at the José Alvalade Stadium.

The Gunners face a tough test on Wednesday evening, when they face Manchester City, who seem to have hit a golden vein of form in the business end of the season.

City are hot on the heels of Arsenal, with two games in hand while being five points adrift, City's destiny is still in their own hands.

However, an Arsenal win could put them back in pole position. Should the Gunners beat Pep Guardiola's side, they will take a giant leap to their first Premier League success since 2004.
