Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson has fuelled speculation of an impending exit by placing his north London home on the property market, according to reports. The 21-year-old has been linked with a summer move away from the Emirates Stadium after failing to hold down a place in Mikel Arteta’s plans, with a number of interested parties said to be keeping tabs on the situation.
Nelson played just nine matches in all competitions for Arsenal last season due to injury problems and competition for places.
He did not start a single Premier League game, with the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang mostly preferred by Arteta in the wide areas.
The former Hoffenheim loanee’s lack of playing time for Arsenal has led to suggestions that he could be set to seek a new challenge before the start of next season.
Nelson’s current contract will expire next summer, leaving the Gunners with a dilemma over whether to cash in now or risk losing him on a free transfer in a year’s time.
The club have already tabled the offer of a new deal, but the winger is yet to accept as he continues to evaluate his options, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Greek heavyweights Olympiakos and three other English clubs have reportedly been in contact with Nelson over the possibility of a move in recent weeks, and the player himself has now dropped a significant hint that a departure from Arsenal could soon be on the cards.
Nelson has put his Hadley Wood home up for sale, according to Mansion Global, which suggests that he could be planning to embark on a new voyage away from the capital.
It remains to be seen whether he will move on from Arsenal this summer or if Arteta will look to provide him with the opportunity to stake his first-team credentials during the final year of his current deal.
The Gunners are believed to be planning for a large-scale overhaul over the coming weeks and months, with Arteta and club director Edu looking to improve on last season’s disappointing eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga and Benfica defender Nuno Tavares look poised to become the first two signings of the summer window.
Arsenal will also be looking to sell players in order to fund their lofty transfer ambitions, with a number of senior stars potentially on the chopping block.
If Nelson refuses to agree fresh terms with the three-time Premier League champions, it seems as though he could be set to join the exodus to make room for new arrivals.
However, Arteta recently suggested that the forward could be given more opportunities to impress in the near future, singling out his unwavering commitment and work rate in the face of adversity.
“With Reiss I would like to give him more,” the Arsenal boss told reporters in May.
“He’s a boy who trains really hard, he wants to do extra all the time but it’s very difficult at the moment with the players that we have to fit him.
“I feel sorry that we don’t have other competitions to use him because he deserves more. If he doesn’t play more it’s my fault.”
