Arsenal 'will announce Bukayo Saka's new deal in next weeks'

Arsenal ‘WILL announce Bukayo Saka’s new five-year deal in the coming weeks’ in a massive boost to Mikel Arteta’s Gunners, with the England star ‘agreeing the contract in February’

  • Arsenal ‘will announce Bukayo Saka’s new contract in the next few weeks’
  • The deal ‘will be valid until 2028’ and was ‘all done and agreed in February’
  • Mail Sport has reported that he could earn almost £15million in new deal

Arsenal are reportedly gearing up to announce a new contract for Bukayo Saka ‘in the coming weeks’.

A graduate of the Arsenal youth academy, the 21-year-old has risen through the ranks to become an integral component of the Gunners’ squad this season, starting in 35 of their 36 Premier League matches while also returning an impressive 13 goals and 11 assists.

And it appears the club are set to reward him for his brilliant form, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the London side ‘will announce a new deal for the young winger in the next few weeks’ which has been ‘all done and agreed since February.’

The Journalist is also said that the ‘documents are ready’ and his new contract ‘will be valid until 2028’.

Mail Sport also revealed in March that his new contract could see him earn almost £15million-per-season, becoming the highest paid player at the club on £300,000-a-week.

Since joining the club, Saka has been widely regarded as one of the most promising young English stars of his generation and has now also been named in the Premier League’s eight-man shortlist for the Young Player of the Season awards, alongside team-mates Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard.

But it’s been a frustrating few days for the Gunners, who suffered a devastating blow to their title hopes last weekend, succumbing to a 3-0 loss by Brighton.

After the game, Odegaard admitted that it ‘felt like the title had gone’, despite it still being mathematically possible to overtake Manchester City at the top of the table, with games against Wolves and Nottingham Forest still to come.

And while it’s been a disappointing end to the season, Arsenal have played some fantastic football this year, with Saka’s individual performances having been a highlight.

The forward has earned the plaudits of many around the league for his brilliance in front of goal, with Kolo Toure even claiming that ‘he would walk into Arsenal’s Invincibles team.’

While he has failed to find the back of the net in his last four matches, Saka has scored some fantastic goals this season.

Perhaps one of the most notable of those came in Arsenal’s 3-2 comeback win against Man United at the Emirates, where Saka buried a long-range left-footed strike, to match Marcus Rashford’s equally impressive shot.

He has also earned the praise of former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil this season, in particular hailing his ‘rocking’ performance after he netted a brace of goals in the Gunners’ 3-2 win against Liverpool
