Any Arsenal move for Sheffield United’s Sander Berge could potentially be set to hinge on the future of a current Gunner. According to football.london, the Norwegian wants to link up with compatriot Martin Odegaard at the Emirates Stadium.
The Real Madrid man is currently on loan with Arsenal, a deal that is set to expire come the end of the campaign.
Reports have suggested that the north Londoners are keen to sign him on a permanent switch – a deal that Berge will be keen to see come to fruition should he too make the move to Arsenal.
The Gunners’ interest in the Sheffield United man is also well-broadcast.
His release clause currently sits at approximately £35m following the Blades’ relegation to the Championship.
It remains to be seen whether a move to Arsenal comes to fruition in the upcoming transfer window, but Mikel Arteta’s chances of securing his man could be boosted by the future of Odegaard.

According to the reports from football.london, Berge’s future “depends on Martin [Odegaard]’s decision” as he is close friends with the on-loan Arsenal man, alongside current Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
The reports suggest that whilst Berge’s decision is not totally dependent on whether Odegaard remains in north London, it could well be factored in should he receive interest from elsewhere.
Alongside Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are also thought to be admirers and could also make a bid in the summer transfer window as they eye a replacement for the soon-to-be out-of-contract Georginio Wijnaldum.
Having previously been praised by the Reds’ coach for his performance in his former club Genk’s meeting with Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League in 2019, Berge expressed his delight at such comments.

Berge has impressed in his time with Sheff Utd despite the Yorkshire outfit having suffered relegation from the Premier League.
He played a key role for the club following his January arrival as the Blades secured a ninth-placed finish in their first season back in the top-flight.
However, the 23-year-old has been hampered by injury problems throughout the current campaign.
He has made just 15 league appearances throughout 2020/21 as the club dropped back into the Championship.
In all, Berge has gone on to make 32 appearances for the Blades in all competitions and scored twice.
Meanwhile, countryman Odegaard has two goals in 18 Arsenal outings.
