Arsenal to miss out on Emi Buendia transfer as Everton play role in Norwich decision
Arsenal: Arteta gives Ozil update as clubs circle
Arsenal’s hopes of landing Emiliano Buendia have faded away after Norwich decided they will not sell this month, according to reports. The attacker emerged as a surprise target for the Gunners earlier this week after catching the eye of the Emirates Stadium recruitment team and Mikel Arteta.
Buendia was a standout figure for the Canaries last season, despite finishing bottom of the Premier League table.
While there was interest from a host of clubs around Europe including Leeds, Norwich were able to keep hold of the 24-year-old.
He has continued his impressive vein of form this season in the Championship, keeping his hopes of an immediate return to the Premier League on track.
Arsenal are looking to add more creativity to their ranks and Arteta is hoping to spend this month, should funds be made available.

The Gunners were said to be eyeing a player-plus-cash move for Buendia due to their depleted transfer kitty.
Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock are the two players that Arsenal would consider sending to East Anglia.
However, according to The Telegraph, Norwich have decided that Buendia is simply not for sale this month on any basis.
The decision has been made on the grounds that Buendia is deemed integral to the Canaries’ hopes of promotion back to the top flight.

Not only that, but Norwich believe they do not need the money after receiving £25million from Everton through the sale of Ben Godfrey.
Norwich also recouped £14.85m for Jamal Lewis earlier in the summer, after he moved to Newcastle.
The club’s stance on selling Buendia, was already made clear by boss Daniel Farke when addressing speculation.
He said: “Emi is a key player for us, an important member of the group, and he is totally committed to us.
“He is our player and will continue to be our player. He is on a long-term contract so we keep him.
“Everyone knows his qualities – I don’t expect interest just because he scored a wondergoal today. People know what he can do.”
It’s a blow for the Gunners, who are now likely to explore other options in the January transfer market.
Julian Brandt of Borussia Dortmund has emerged as a potential target but the Bundesliga giants are yet to receive an offer for Buendia.
