Arsenal’s interest in Mykhaylo Mudryk is only likely to become more intense if the Shakhtar Donetsk starlet continues his impressive form after the forward scored a stunning goal against Celtic in the Champions League. The Ukrainian youngster has shot to stardom this season and his most recent display at Parkhead exhibited why he is courting interest from Europe’s elite.
The 21-year-old was given the ball on the centre circle as Shakhtar launched a counter attack but still had a lot of work to do to get a sight of goal.
But he used his electric pace to run directly at the Celtic defence, cut inside and unleashed a ferocious strike from 25 yards into the top corner, celebrating euphorically after equalising to give his side hope of qualifying for the knockout stage.
It was the first time Shakhtar had really tested Celtic and it is no surprise Mudryk, wanted by Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, is rated in the same bracket as Kylian Mbappe by his club. The Gunners have sent scouts to watch the £50m-rated star and, if they made the trip to the Scottish capital, they would have come away impressed once more.
