Arsenal target Kieran Trippier and discover James Maddison transfer alternative

The Premier League season is less than a week away but Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta still harbours hopes of strengthening his squad.

The Gunners signed Ben White from Brighton to improve the defence but do not want to stop there ahead of Friday's clash with Brentford.

There may be some outgoings at the Emirates too with Joe Willock linked with a move to Newcastle and Eddie Nketiah potentially on his way out.

Arsenal continue to be linked with a host of names, as is tradition during the transfer window.

And Daily Star Sport have rounded up the best of the Arsenal rumours before the transfer window closes on August 31…

Maddison alternative

Leicester star James Maddison has often been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, though the Foxes do not want to let the midfielder go.

It has led Arsenal to look elsewhere with an alternative reportedly eyed in Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.

The Mirror claim a deal for Bernardo could be easier to get over the line for Arsenal with manager Arteta knowing the Portuguese ace well.

Arteta targets Trippier

Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier reportedly wants to return to the Premier League with the England right-back heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

Though it seems Arsenal are set to battle the Red Devils for the former Tottenham ace.

According to The Sun, United will stiff competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal for Trippier's signature this summer.

Fresh Ramsdale bid

Arsenal will reportedly make their fourth bid for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The Gunners have already submitted three bids for the shot-stopper, all of which have been rebuffed by the Blades.

But Arsenal aren't giving up with Football.London reporting Edu will make a fourth bid in the coming days, despite Ramsdale and Sheffield United being relegated last season.
