Arsenal suffer Houssem Aouar transfer blow as Juventus ‘open talks’ with Lyon over switch

Arsenal are still thought to be keen on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, and are weighing up a move for the France international in the summer. However, Juventus appear to have nipped in front of the Gunners, and haev reportedly opened talks with Lyon over a summer switch.
Arsenal’s hopes of signing Houssem Aouar appear to have received a blow after Juventus reportedly opened talks with the Frenchman.
The Gunners were strongly linked with a move for Aouar last summer, but turned their attention to Thomas Partey after months of negotiations.
It is understood that Arsenal, as well as Manchester City, are still keen on signing Aouar at the end of the season.
But it has now been claimed that the midfielder has entered negotiations with Serie A champions Juventus over a potential summer move.

That is according to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims that Juve chiefs have been impressed by Aouar’s performances for Lyon this season.
It is thought that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was keen to pair him up alongside Partey in what would be a formidable partnership.
Meanwhile, City’s Pep Guardiola us understood to be looking to revitalise his midfield, and believes Aouar would be the perfect man to help lead a new look set up.

Earlier this month Aouar’s team-mate Memphis Depay insisted that the pair were keen to move to a world class side.
Depay told Canal+: ‘We know we play for a very big club, but we want to go to one of the top three clubs in the world.
“Then you will see Houssem, he will get 10 times better. For me, it’s the same.”
Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette has been tweeting Aouar, prompting more speculation from fans.
Aouar tweeted out “69>” which was a reference to Lyon’s 5-0 win over St Etienne.
Lyon’s French department is number 69 and Aouar was claiming it is better than bitter rivals St Etienne’s, whose is number 42.
Lacazette replied to his fellow countryman with “logique” – which translates to ‘logic’, meaning he agrees.
That led hoards of Arsenal fans to hail ‘agent Laca’ as they hope the attacker can convince Aouar to move to north London.
