Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette sends transfer message and hails Mikel Arteta decision
Arsenal: Has Arteta found a winning formula for Gunners?
Alexandre Lacazette has praised Mikel Arteta’s tactical shift, but has hinted Arsenal ‘lack attacking players’. The Frenchman has scored in the Gunners’ pair of recent wins, with hs goal against Brighton the decisive one.
Arteta opted to move away from his trusted 3-4-3 with results eluding Arsenal in the early months of the season.
The Spaniard changed over to a 4-3-3, allowing more players to be closer to the central striker.
And that move has reaped immediate rewards, with their par of wins easing the pressure around the club.
Lacazette was used as the focal point of Arsenal’s attack in the win over Chelsea and was full of praise for the tactical change.

“The coach puts me as a No.9, but more with a role to play for my team-mates and challenge a lot,” he told RMC.
“It is not really a 10’s position, nor an old-fashioned No.9 that has to stay ahead and score goals.
“He knows my qualities and knows that I like to play short and help my team-mates with the development of play.
“Now we’re four behind and three midfielders. It’s much easier, because before we lacked attacking players.

“This tactical change is also good for us…”
Lacazette came off the bench at the AMEX Stadium, with Arsenal struggling for a breakthrough.
Less than 30 seconds after coming on however, the forward scored the all-important goal.
“I was a little surprised, but it’s true that everything went quickly,” he added.
“When the team lost confidence, it was also my case. I had few situations in match, only one per game. I had to make it happen, and that’s what I didn’t do.
“In the game, it was not exceptional either. Since then, we have regained confidence, me too with the matches of Europa League who helped me.”
Earlier this week, Lacazette emerged as a player that could potentially leave the Emirates, with Arsenal bosses reportedly holding long-term doubts about his goal scoring ability.
CBS Sports claim that Gunners chiefs are willing to let the former Lyon man’s contract run down, expiring at the end of the 2021/22 season.
RB Salzburg’s Patson Daka and Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard have both been mentioned as possible replacements.
