Arsenal have sacked club icon Steve Bould, who has spent over 30 years at the club as a player and a coach. Bould enjoyed huge success during his playing days at Arsenal and was a trusted member of the squad when Arsene Wenger first took charge in 1996.
After retiring from professional football in 2000, Bould began working on his coaching badges and returned to Arsenal to work with the youth teams.
And he was promoted to assistant manager of the first team alongside Wenger in 2012.
The former Gunners defender stayed on the coaching staff beyond Wenger’s departure when Unai Emery took over.
But he wanted a more involved role and took up the position as Under-23s coach in 2019, taking over from Freddie Ljungberg.
The Athletic now report though that Bould has been sacked by Arsenal as part of a major restructure behind the scenes.
