Arsenal could sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana in a cut-price deal this summer following a tricky season for German stopper Bernd Leno under Mikel Arteta.
The 25-year-old and Ajax opted to appeal against the ruling of international sports tribunal CAS, with the current period keeping him out of action till February.
The Cameroon international was adjudged to have tested positive for Furosemide, and he has since insisted that it was taken accidentally through his wife's medication.
Despite his current side playing a part in his quest to end the ban early, they might not be seeing him on the pitch again with Premier League interest coming from the Gunners.
The Telegraph have reported that because his contract at Ajax expires next summer, he could cost Arsenal as little as £7million – even if the ban is reduced.
If not, he could cost even less, but that would mean he couldn't feature for Arsenal until the back end of the 2021/22 season having been training alone since early in 2021.
Onana had been considered as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe before the blow, with reports last year linking Chelsea and Barcelona to a £35m switch.

Mat Ryan had joined the club on loan from Brighton in January, and his hopes of extending that move could be impacted should Onana end up moving to the Emirates.
“I’ve got full faith in the team around me – my agent, family, friends," he told Fox Sports.
"That we’re going to get a couple of options hopefully and go about making what’s going to be the best decision for me.
“Hopefully, Arsenal becomes one of those options as well that we can look at and see what can happen there, but at the minute it’s still quite early. The season’s just finished.”

Arteta said on potential summer transfers earlier this month: "The squad needs changing.
"There were already a lot of changes in December, something that has not been done in years, but it tells us where we were. Things are going to have to change and the owners are going to back it up."
Adding: "Time is catching up right now. It's a trend, it's years now that this has been happening. If the distance and the margins with the rest become too big, then it's almost impossible to do it."
