Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is barred for life from Gunners fan pub in America

While Thierry Henry may forever be welcomed back at Arsenal with open arms, one Gunners-mad pub in America have actually barred the club legend for life.

The French forward is regarded as one of the North London outfit's greatest ever players, helping them to two Premier League titles and two FA Cups across eight sensational seasons.

With 228 goals to his name, Henry remains Arsenal's all-time record scorer and will forever hold a special place in Gunners hearts for his exploits during the club's 'Invincibles' campaign.

However, despite being adored by Arsenal fans far and wide, the club icon is forbidden from entering Maggie McGarry’s – a Gunners-obsessed boozer based in San Francisco.

Despite his heroics with Arsenal, Henry is banned from the North Beach bar because of his past transgressions while on international duty with France back in 2009.

A plaque proudly on display in the Irish-owned establishment lists the famed forward as one of three players – alongside Roy Keane and Stephen Ireland – 'not welcome' at McGarry's for their indiscretions involving Ireland's national team.

Under a signed image of Henry, a note reads: 'Deliberately handled twice, then celebrated like nothing had happened, as William Gallas scored the winner from his handball pass. Ireland missed the World Cup.'

The description is then followed by the words: 'Les Cheat'.

Those at Maggie McGarry’s – a local haunt for the Bay Area Gooners which is crammed with Arsenal memorabilia – clearly remain aggrieved by Henry's infamous handball which denied the Boys in Green a spot at the 2010 World Cup.

At least he isn't alone in being exiled, with Manchester United legend Keane banned because of his misconduct during the 2002 World Cup while former Manchester City and Stoke midfielder Ireland is prohibited as a result of lies over his deceased grandmother back in 2007.

The versatile sports bar is also often frequented by the San Francisco Manchester City Blues, a fan club dedicated to Pep Guardiola's star-studded Premier League champions.

However, while the two sets of rival supporters are prepared to put their differences aside and share the joint in harmony, it appears a less amicable approach has been taken with Henry.

Whatever happened to forgive and forget?
