Arsenal will look to raid Sheffield United for two players this summer as they turn their attentions to Norway international Sander Berge. The Gunners are already in talks with the Blades as they try to thrash out a deal to take keeper Aaron Ramsdale to north London.
Berge has only been at Bramall Lane for little over 18 months after arriving from Genk for around £22million at the start of 2020.
The 23-year-old made 29 Premier League appearances for United but couldn’t prevent his side suffering relegation to the Championship last season after finishing at the bottom of the table.
Berge, who played the full 90 minutes during his side’s opening-day league defeat to Birmingham City, would bring energy to the Arsenal midfield and provide protection for the backline.
Arsenal have been targeting a creative midfielder this summer and have been heavily linked with Leicester City’s James Maddison.
While Berge won’t offer too much attacking threat, he is a box-to-box midfielder who would no doubt help the Emirates side shore up the defensive side of their game – an area in which they improved last season.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu have been chasing England stopper Ramsdale all summer as they look for someone who can compete with current number one Bernd Leno.
Arteta is short of options between the sticks with Runar Alex Runarsson struggling for form when called upon last season after the departure of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa.
Academy graduate Arthur Okonkwo is held in high regard at the club but he is only viewed as a third-choice at the moment.
Ramsdale suffered successive relegations from the top flight with Bournemouth and the Blades but has proved his capabilities time and time again.

Sheffield United will be hoping to keep their best players at the club as they look for an instant return to the top flight.
But the cash for two first-team stars will come in handy for the club after their relegation to the second tier.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are closely monitoring the situation with Martin Odegaard, who enjoyed a loan spell at the Emirates last season.
Arteta is believed to be keen to land the Real Madrid player, who impressed in England last season.
The 22-year-old made 22 league appearances during his time at the Emirates and was also a key part of the Arsenal side which reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
