Arsenal heartbreak as Man Utd seal 39-point swing in Premier League…

Arsenal are being tipped for Premier League title heartbreak with Manchester City backed to pip the Gunners by just two points to be crowned champions yet again. Elsewhere, Manchester United are expected to finish third and a mammoth 23 points ahead of Chelsea which would complete a huge points swing from last season.
Arsenal take on title rivals City in a do-or-die type encounter at the Etihad next midweek, but first take on Southampton this Friday night. And spread betting experts Sporting Index expect Arsenal to ultimately finish on 87 points on May 28.
They are currently on 74 points which means they are expected to take just 13 points of a possible 21 in their final seven matches of the season. They have succumbed to back-to-back draws before facing Southampton while City are on a six-match winning streak in England’s top flight.
As such, the supercomputer’s predictable final table has Pep Guardiola’s men picking up a third successive crown with 89 points. The Gunners are however expected to finish comfortably clear of any other team, with third-placed United ending on 73, leaving them 14 behind Mikel Arteta’s outfit.

Sporting Index predicts Newcastle to then come fourth on 70 points, six clear of Liverpool in fifth. Brighton, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Brentford and Chelsea are expected to make up the top 10 in that order, with the Blues only just avoiding ending in 11th courtesy of a greater goal difference than Fulham.
The prediction says Chelsea will end on a measly 50 points – the same amount they ended up with in 2015-16, a season which they started as champions but ended slumped in 10th. That would leave them 23 points behind United despite having concluded last season in third on 74.
By contrast, United only mustered 58 points in the 2021-22 season in which Chelsea were stewarded by Thomas Tuchel, who is now in charge at Bayern Munich. And if the prediction comes true, that would mean a massive 39-point swing between the two ‘Big Six’ clubs across the two campaigns.
At the bottom, Everton survive by the absolute skin of their teeth on goal difference with Leicester consigned to the drop with Nottingham Forest and Southampton. Leeds United – despite losing 5-1 to Crystal Palace and 6-1 to Liverpool in their last two games – are being backed to avoid the drop by two points while West Ham are comfortably clear of the bottom three.

Neville Burdock, the Head of Sportsbook at Sporting Index, said: “Momentum seems to be shifting in the title race and we now expect Manchester City to go on to win it by finishing on 89 points, two clear of Arsenal.
“At the bottom it could come down to goal difference, with Leicester and Everton predicted to both finish on 34 points, and it’s the Foxes that may fall foul of an inferior goal difference to join Nottingham Forest (33 points) and Southampton (29) back in the Championship next season.”
