Arsenal could lose one of their major goal threats if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seals a move away from the club before transfer deadline day. The Gunners have flirted with the idea of recruiting a striker this summer, although none of their ventures have come off so far. If the 32-year-old does depart from the Emirates, they will surely be forced to step up their efforts.

With Cristiano Ronaldo looking increasingly likely to leave Juventus over the coming days, the Bianconeri were always going to need a high-calibre forward to replace him.

As such, TuttoMercato claim that Aubameyang tops the list of new manager Massimiliano Allegri, who is weighing up Arsenal’s £17million asking price.

Having made a disastrous start to their Premier League campaign, Arsenal responded with a 6-0 EFL Cup thumping of West Bromwich Albion in which Aubameyang scored a hat-trick.

Based on reports, that could prove to be his parting gift. Without further ado, Express Sport looks at three strikers who the Gunners could turn to if Juventus follow up their transfer interest.

Dusan Vlahovic

Fiorentina’s physical frontman has been linked with a host of top clubs this summer, including Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.

Based on their respective attempts to prise him away from Serie A, it is clear that it would take a monumental bid to bring Fiorentina to the negotiating table.

Nevertheless, the 6ft 3in forward enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last time out, netting a hugely impressive 21 league goals.

Still just 21-years-old, the Gunners may have to break the bank to get him, but they would have a player for now and the future who has the physicality to thrive in the English game.

DON’T MISS

Divock Origi

In a relatively quiet summer window for Liverpool, a reshuffle in attack is one of the only things left on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer agenda.

Xherdan Shaqiri recently completed a permanent move to Lyon, while Origi has also supposedly been deemed expendable by the Liverpool boss.

Although his goal-scoring record on Merseyside appears underwhelming, the established front-three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have left him feeding off scraps in terms of game time.

The 26-year-old would be a fairly cheap, and potentially underwhelming option to replace Aubameyang, but if given the trust to lead the line for Mikel Arteta we could see him find another gear in front of goal.

Luka Jovic

The second Serbian who should be on Arsenal’s hit list is Luka Jovic, who has still not found a resolution to his Real Madrid nightmare for the coming season.

Inter Milan had toyed with the idea of making a move, but now that Edin Dzeko has made a goal-scoring start to replacing Romelu Lukaku, that deal may now be dead in the water.

With a hugely disappointing games and goals record over the past two campaigns, Arsenal would be signing Jovic for the form he displayed back in 2018-19 with Eintracht Frankfurt.

His 27-goal season tempted Los Blancos into a big-money move, and although that has not worked out, it is clear that a prolific goal-scorer is in there somewhere.
