Arsenal opted to pick up Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid to replace Mesut Ozil in January, having been linked with Julian Brandt before Borussia Dortmund ruled out a sale. However, the Gunners could have another chance to sign the Germany midfielder after all.
Arsenal are set to be given a second chance to sign Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt this summer.
The Gunners were strongly linked with the Germany midfielder in January, but they opted to pick up Martin Odegaard on loan to replace Mesut Ozil.
However, Mikel Arteta could have another opportunity to land Brandt this summer, with Dortmund looking to raise funds.
According to German outlet BILD, the Bundesliga side would be willing to let Brandt leave for as low as £21m.

The 24-year-old has started 14 league games this season out of a possible 26, while he has also been used primarily as a substitute in the Champions League.
Brandt’s tally of just three goals all season certainly hasn’t helped his case, and Bild claim that he has shown a ‘lack of aggressiveness’ and ‘no brilliant ideas’.
That has led to Dortmund’s change of stance from the refusal to let him leave in January.

The approach is no doubt hinging on whether Arsenal decide to make Odegaard’s switch from Real Madrid permanent.
The Norwegian has fit in well in north London, and it has been mooted that he could have a bright future if he opted to leave the Spanish capital for good.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could also be set to raid Premier League basement boys Sheffield United for the signing of talented midfielder Sander Berge this summer.
The 23-year-old has been thoroughly impressive since joining the Blades from Genk last year, becoming an undroppable under Chris Wilder as the club surged to a ninth-placed finish at the end of the previous campaign.
This season, he has rarely featured as the result of a hamstring injury that has been keeping him out of action since December, and could be in line to seek a summer exit once United’s inevitable relegation is confirmed.
Arsenal are among the sides to have recently been mentioned in connection with Berge, and could do far worse than to secure his signature at the end of the season.
