Arsenal fans think Aaron Ramsdale was using ‘top level dark arts’ on Mitrovic

Arsenal fans claimed Aaron Ramsdale attempted to use ‘top level dark arts’ to nullify Aleksandar Mitrovic in the clash against Fulham.

The Fulham striker has the supernatural ability to wreak havoc on defences across the country with his brute strength and precise finishing. That led him to notch a whopping 43 goals in the Championship last season and four already this campaign.

But he was momentarily left needing treatment after being dealt a heavy blow by the Gunners goalkeeper. Ramsdale gathered a cross and attempted to launch a counterattack in the 25th minute when his kick directed the ball straight at Mitrovic’s head at point-blank range.

The impact would have been enough to render many unable to continue, yet the Serbian international returned to action after a brief check. But Arsenal fans on Twitter joked that Ramsdale’s strike was an attempt to take Fulham’s star man out of the game.

One user tweeted: “Ramsdale smashing a ball at Mitrovic’s head, top level dark arts.”

Another wrote: “Ramsdale taking Mitrovic out smartly,” while a third added: “One way to deal with Mitrovic is try to knock him out with the ball.”

Unfortunately for the Gunners, it only appeared to aggravate Mitrovic and increase his appetite to get on the scoresheet. And he did just that after a remarkable bit of pressing and defensive play in the second-half.

The goal machine hunted down Gabriel Magalhaes on the edge of the Arsenal box before dispossessing him and beating Ramsdale from close range.

But Fulham’s lead was cancelled out in the 64th minute by a deflected Martin Odegaard strike. Gabriel was then able to make amends for his mistake by knocking in a loose ball from a corner to maintain Arsenal's 100% winning record this season.
